Pericles vs. Lincoln
- Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg address and Pericles's are similar.
- They were both given to honor soldiers that had died in civil war.
- Lincoln's speech took place after the battle at Gettysburg in the US Civil War.
- Pericles's oration took pace shortly into the Peloponnesian Wars.
- The Gettysburg Address is a better funeral oration because he does a better job of honoring the soldiers who gave their lives.
- Appeal to Patriotism
- Lincoln does a better job appealing to patriotism because he excites the people to keep working to be a new free nation.
